About this project
Who makes MedProtect and why: an independent plain-language lab test reference and an app that reads your PDF report and stores data only on your device.
What this site is
MedProtect is an independent reference of laboratory markers written in plain language. It explains what each test measures, where the reference boundaries lie, which conditions most often push a result up or down, and when a doctor's visit is the right next step. The site is not a medical organization and provides no medical services.
Why it exists
A lab report is written for clinicians, but it is handed to the patient. We restate it in everyday language — without scaring and without promising a “diagnosis over the internet”. The goal is that you arrive at the doctor's office prepared, not frightened.
Principles
- Reference character: no diagnoses, no prescriptions, no dosages;
- Independence: we do not advertise laboratories and do not accept their materials;
- Editorial control: the texts are created and checked by the MedProtect team — the process is described on the Editorial page;
- Sources: every article rests on verifiable documents; pages without confirmed sources are flagged in the editorial report.
The app
The project team is preparing a mobile app for iPhone and Android: you upload a lab PDF report, and the app finds the values and prepares a clear breakdown. Uploaded medical documents and breakdowns are stored only on the user's device — this is fixed in the privacy policy. Details are on the app page.
Team and support
A small development and editorial team works on the project. We do not publish invented doctors or present texts as “specialist opinion”: the actual medical-review status is described on the Editorial page. For questions about the site or the app, reach us via the contacts page.
